Artist Statement.

Since “Man” first began drawing beasts on the walls of their dwellings they have had one goal. To chronicle what they have seen. I have this same primal goal.

I was born into a world of affliction, treacherous beasts brimming with malevolent desires were all that my infantile eyes could see. It took many years for these eyes to acclimate to my world. As a child these eyes yearned to see what lies behind the white washed walls of the institution.

After many years of searching I have found what I have been looking for. Truth. Truth is intangible, and in many cases yet to be defined, however it is impossible for one to hide it as it lays upon one's face. Truth is found in every crook, crevice, and cranny on the human face. It cannot hide as it captures the light and shadow, and intern this truth chronicles itself. I translate to you, the viewer, this found truth.

Using brush and pigment, that has been bonded to various vehicles, I capture my portraits. With many flagrant movements of my brush I carve a semblance of my subject, and as the lines and colors expand the truth, hidden to all eyes but mine, emerges. Transcribed on my canvas you too may find this hidden truth I so desperately searched for
